Balamku cave archaeology untouched since 1966

Archaeologists working in Balamku Cave, beneath the ancient city of Chichen Itza, in the Mexican Yucatan, have found a cache of over 150 ritual objects that may hold clues to the rise and fall of the Maya people. The cave was discovered in modern times in 1966, but for unknown reasons the discoverer sealed up the cave and never returned.
