Alp Design Bifidia cowstails.

Connectors for SRT made of polyamide tape. These are a strong, light and compact item. The short connector is 35cm, the long connector 65cm.

These items are favoured by some cavers because: i. they are more streamlined and neat than tied rope, having no knots to catch or wear away, and: ii. they are very distinct and in trying conditions cannot be confused with pitch ropes, legloops and suchlike, and; iii. they are very lighweight.

They are less shock absorbing than knotted dynamic rope cowstails (see the FFS testing which may be found on the BCA website) which makes them most suitable for experienced practitioners who can balance their potential advantages with the extra care needed.
