1 watt Duo focussed led module
1 watt led module for Petzl Duo. Easily retro - fitted (as long as you have strong hands to undo the bezel), the unit replaces the halogen bulb and screws into the same fitting. Gives a focussed beam at c. 110 lumens for about six hours, regulated. Then gives a useable 'glow' for several hours. It comes with a heat sink which also replaces the reflector (which should minimise heating and maximise led life). Currently uses a Cree (but may alter as better units come out). FREE POST ON THIS ITEM.

Little Monkey
Little Monkey caving light. Very compact, very light (under 250g!), and durable LED helmet-mounted lamp. There are four power settings: 1. One hundred hours at 20 lumens; 2. thirty six hours at around 50 lumens; 3.thirteen hours at 140 lumens; and 4.four and a half hours at 367+ lumens. The single LED gives a pretty tight spot beam, and subjectively 'looks' even brighter than the figures suggest. There is a reasonable spill of light out from the centre, too; not the even flood of a Viper, but noticeably greater reach. The switch is protected at the back of the headset, and the Little Monkey has a battery charge indicator as part of its function (one to four flashes) so that a caver can check the state of charge without taking the helmet off. Comes with car charger, smart mains charger, and battery fixings. Spare batteries are available for those using the Little Monkey on expedition; these are easily changed mid trip. A converter for AA batteries is also available on request, as is a spade attachment for those who wish to remove the whole light from their helmet. There are now a few really good, high quality caving lights on the market. The Little Monkey is certainly one of them, and adds to the choice available to cavers who really like to see what they're doing...

Mini Q40 LED diving torch
Mini Q40 LED diving torch. 2W traditional compact diving torch, at c. 21cm long it fits easily on the side of a helmet as a spotting beam or useful backup. At 77 lumens and 4+ hour's duration it should get you out of trouble in most UK caves. Waterproof to 100m+, again it will do fine in most UK sumps! Two, plus a reliable main light (or two) make a reasonably light, portable and bright set up for British sumps, and indeed anywhere that the carry is a significant part of the endeavour. Supplied with 4 AA batteries; cheap and easy to source in most places. LEDs are being upgraded in these ;amps pretty often, brightness will probably increase...

Petzl Duo headtorch
Petzl Duo Headtorch. This headtorch is a lightweight, versatile and effective lamp. Complete with a 14 LED module with three power settings. This gives a choice of low power (although effective) long duration, or a relatively bright illumination which will last a 'normal' British trip, or something in between. The Duo is waterproof to 5 metres; light; tough enough for most caving; and takes AA batteries which are easily available in most parts of the world (plus, rechargeable versions are easy to come by). Highly recommended as a basic or entry level cave light.

Petzl e+LITE
Petzl e+LITE. A very lightweight and compact emergency LED lamp. It has three white and one red LEDs, with various power / colour settings. Mounted on a thin elastic strap that allows it to work as a headtorch, on a wristband etc. It is waterproof to 1m, and although not an intended use, it works well as an emergency caving backup. It is fine for camping underground, battery changes, and would work as a 'get out of jail' asset; although you wouldn't want to cave very far on it, in big passage! At 28g it can be carried around the neck very comfortably, and even features a small whistle. A very versatile piece of kit, and the lithium batteries are easily obtainable (including big supermarkets).

Petzl Myo XP Headtorch
Petzl Myo XP headtorch. Single bright LED, light, robust, and focussable with various power settings. The Myo XP has a maximum beam of 97m (highest level, in boost mode) and a maximum duration of 95 hours (lowest level, you can read by this). There are three settings available. A flippable diffusor on the headset also allows a choice between a tighter spot, and more diffuse light. The Myo XP takes three AA alkaline batteries. It is very robustly built - although users intending to take it caving should note that it is rated water resistant, not waterproof; it requires maintenance if taken to very wet places. A good bit of kit for surface and mountaineering use too; bright enough to route find, light enough to be reasonable to carry.

Scurion 1300
Scurion 1300. A high quality, high tech, really *very* bright and versatile caving light. The sort of light to which superlatives attach... Two LEDs in an anodized alloy lamp head (default colour black, for other options contact us), with the alloy box for the lithium ion batteries at the rear of the helmet. The key feature of the Scurion is the combination of a very effective wide angled LED (the 1300 model has a wider spread than the other models), with an equally effective spot beam LED. Each can be used together or separately, on a variety of different brightness settings which are user-programmable. Lamps are delivered with four different settings installed - some users are content with these; some tinker.Rather than try to describe every permutation, it is best to say that the longest run time (lowest setting on 1 LED only) is c. 88 hours, while the brightest setting at 650 lumen each, a total of 1300 lumen(both LEDs at full power) would last just over two hours. Battery level is indicated by a row of five green, mini LEDs in the headset. The lamp may also be 'locked' to avoid it turning on accidentally in transit It is non-magnetic, which significantly aids the taking of accurate survey data! As spare batteries are available, not *too* expensive, and easily transported, the Scurion 1300 makes a good expedition lamp for anyone intending to go underground for fairly long periods of time (days, if common sense is deployed)if LOTS OF LIGHT is a high priority for you! With a simple converter added, it can also run off a 9v battery at reduced capability. The spot facility is very useful in rigging and exploration of avens and pitches, while the wide angle capability makes for comfortable caving. In terms of versatility of caving use, it is very much at the top end of all currently available units. It is water resistant to a high degree; if you don't tamper with the headset, and if you take care when replacing the lid of the battery box, to ensure that the 'O' ring is seated correctly. However it really *isn't* suitable for diving! Note that this is *not* the lightest caving lamp. Small, or weak necked cavers should try the lamp for carrying before investing. Comes with a mains charger, *two* batteries, and full instructions (useful!) The default fitting is a 'bolt to the helmet' affair, a spade alternative is available upon request. Aftercare is all that you would expect with a lamp of this quality.

Viper
Viper light. A high quality, high tech, and very bright caving light. Three LEDs in a compact lamphead, with the lithium ion battery helmet mounted at the rear for neatness. There are four light settings, going roughly: 1. lasts about two days, enough to crawl or prussik on 2. lasts 10+ hours, enough for comfortable caving in most passage 3. lasts 3+ hours, a very bright light for enjoying *big* passage 4. lasts 1.5+ hours at c. 825 lumens, for spotting or filming. Water resistant to a high degree (we're working on getting a depth quote, currently 10m), and altogether a useful bit of kit if you're caving mainly in the UK, or anywhere near any recharging facility. Also has a battery level indicator - a neat feature to be expected on all top end lamps. The Viper has proved particularly popular with users who wish to take photographs or film. The significant brightness at full setting, combined with the very even spread beam makes an attractive package. Comes with mains charger and car charger, plus all necessities for helmet mounting. As this is a British product, follow up care should be excellent (as you would expect with any top flight kit!) Incidentally - we throw in the lamp bracket attachment, on the assumption that you may well be buying a new helmet to mount the Viper on.
