Latex rubber chest-height suit for deep wading in rivers, and very wet pitches. One piece (without seams) this garment is worn between the undersuit and the oversuit and effectively blocks water getting in - unless it gets over the top!

Most often used in continental caves, where long, significantly vertical or mainly dry trips are impractical in a wetsuit. The 'ponto' is lighter and may be much more easily carried, only being worn when required.

Potentially very useful for instructors and others who lead parties, who do not want to get wet!
