A less high tech solution to big fall factors than the Scorpio. Cheaper, heavier (395g) and marginally less user friendly (no separate 'resting loop', more prone to tripping the unwary) BUT potentially with one great advantage...

It can easily be reset, relying as it does on the long rope tail slipping through a friction device on the front of the harness. This comes into its own when there is a significant chance of multiple falls. Not an issue on a 'Sports' via ferrata, where generally hard moves are well documented and isolated, and retreat is fairly easy. Where bad rock and collapsing holds, and less perfectly maintained routes are expected, the ability of the device to cope with a few 'exciting bits' might make all the difference...

So - if you're in the bigger mountains where freeze / thaw is at work, this should be considered. One for the Dolomites!
