Well, not really. But a warm head is a big part of comfort and safety; cold often makes for bad judgement, not a good thing in a cave - or navigating off the Allotment in winter, for that matter.

A low volume hat that is made to fit neatly under a helmet without getting in the way, and also small enough to stow neatly when the going gets hotter. It won't keep your ears warm - team it up with the neck tube for that, or get a balaclava instead - but it is *very* comfortable, doesn't ruck, or get in the way. Good for digs, camping, or just chilly caves in general.
